Five Weeks of Giving 2013 – Love 146

December 24, 2013 in Appaman News

The next charity chosen for our annual Five Weeks of Giving program is a pick from Jenna, a foundation called Love 146, which is dedicated to ending child trafficking and exploitation.

According to the organization,”Love is the foundation of our name because it is our motivating drive to end the trafficking and exploitation of children. Martin Luther King Jr. said, ‘Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love.’ We hold that to be true.”

Jenna says, “I was first introduced to this foundation through my church who is a big supporter of this cause. It’s something that most people do not give a second thought to as a real issue in the world. The more I work with children and spend time with my niece and nephew the more children are brought to the forefront of my mind. When I heard about this issue the thought was so appalling, and I couldn’t believe this was still a relevant problem. I am so lucky to live among family and friend who deeply love and care for their children. I wish that same love to be shown to children all around the world. This foundation is working hard to abolish the trafficking and enslavement of children through survivor care, prevention education, professional training and empowering movement.”
