Kickin’ it Old School at Small Fry
Remember when tin can stilts, dominoes, and marbles weren’t overshadowed by DVRs and iPads? Over at Small Fry, they sure do, and our Baseball Henley in and Gym Sweats (below, in Firebrick) were featured in an awesome “Throwback Tuesday” post. Click on over to check out some great ideas for old-school games and toys to introduce to your kids, as well more gorgeous photos of our retro threads.
Love from Estella
Estella is a longtime favorite shop for the most fashionable kids in NYC and beyond. In addition to a great selection of quality kids’ clothing (Including yours truly! Not that we’re biased…), you can get the inside scoop and find great fashion/gift ideas on their blog.
So, of course, we were stoked to hear their thoughts on this season’s collection:
Appaman has released photos of its fall 2013 collection and, per usual, it is full of street-smart pieces that are comfortable, practical, and ultra cool. This season’s collection pays homage to iconic American style with vintage varsity jackets, prep school basics, and punk-inspired plaid. As always, the line manages to bring a hint of the founder’s unique Scandinavian perspective into its clothing to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces with tons of street-cred. Whether your kids are at school, heading to practice, or hanging out with friends, Appaman’s pieces allow your kids to discover and explore their own personal style. What’s better than that?
Thanks for the love! Right back at ya.
Always in-the-know LilSugar had great things to say about our Fall jackets and coats:
As usual, the line’s outerwear is the star of the show with fabulous varsity bomber jackets; puffy, motorcycle-inspired vests; and the boy’s band-inspired Route 1 jacket that he’ll be begging to wear even before the weather turns cool.

Outfit Ideas from People
People Moms & Babies recommends Appaman’s Mod Suit in Navy when your mini Justin Timberlake wants to turn this into a suit and tie kind of situation. We approve of most Justin Timberlake related matters, so we approve of this idea.

Appaman loves Pinterest, especially when it comes to sharing our inspiration behind our design process.
Check out our new boards, where we’ve been collecting images of the back-to-school style throughout the ages, including the greasers and cheerleaders of Rydell High, the sophisticated pleats and tailoring of a New England prep school, the military jackets and flannel of your favorite tough-on-the-outside punk and grunge kids.

It’s that time of year again, peeps! The day we release our new Fall collection on Appaman.com is fast approaching, so after you set your alarms to July 15th, take a look at our new video, a behind-the-scenes look at our Fall/Winter ’13 catalog photoshoot in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
This season’s collection is a our tribute to iconic American school style. We were inspired by the refined look of prep school cool, the sporty comfort of vintage varsity gear and the edgy, rebellious spirit of punk fashion.
Of course, Appaman kids can be found rocking their own personal style about anywhere on campus: shootin’ hoops on the playground, cheering from the bleachers, making music with the band, testing theories in the lab, or break dancing in the parking lot. We made a mix-and-match collection so you can make these looks your own, and be confined to just one style.
Once again, we’d like to thank videographer Mike Canzoniero for his cinematic skills and Boots for contributing original music.

Is there any palette more inspirational than that of Mother Nature herself? For our Spring/Summer 2013 collection, we were inspired by the blissful beauty of the ocean, where all it takes is sand, a surfboard, and a little sun to make a truly perfect day from sunrise to sunset.
We took the natural ombres from the sea and the sky to make great color options for beach bum boys and girls.
Take a look at some of our inspiration and outfit ideas:
It looks like one of SJP’s fashionable twins has added another piece of Appaman outerwear to her growing collection! Tabitha and Loretta Broderick, twin daughters of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, love to go out in Appaman jackets year round (like we mentioned yesterday), and we think Loretta looks incredibly sweet and chic in her newest ensemble, which features our Spring 2013 Boutique Blazer in Huckleberry.
Sarah Jessica recently told PEOPLE magazine’s Celebrity Babies blog that Tabitha and Loretta are the ones coordinating their outfits, from head to toe, accessories included. “They pick out their own clothes every single day,” she said. “We have a routine. They pick out their clothes at 3 o’clock when they wake up from their nap.”
She insists that their spot-on fashion choices, which you can see here in PEOPLE’s gallery of Broderick twin style, are completely their own. “We tell them nothing. We just give them the temperature outside and if they don’t pick enough clothing, then we say, ‘You need leggings or pants. You need to add something so you’ll be warm enough.’ That’s all they would listen to.”
The Boutique Blazer ($93, also available in Silver Moon) is part of Appaman’s Fine Tailoring collection, recently expanded to include girls. The blazer is fitted with crop length sleeves to give it a classic, feminine look. Shop our complete girls’ Spring/Summer 2013 collection here, and check out our best-selling Fine Tailoring for boys here.
It’s springtime in NYC! Sarah Jessica Parker‘s super smiley twins, Tabitha and Loretta Broderick, celebrated by bopping around the Big Apple in the bright, matching Roll Bounce Jackets they were spotted wearing last year.
We love how these girls look in coordinated apparel, especially when it involves Appaman outerwear (ok, we’re biased). Click here to check out how they rocked their many different Appaman looks all winter long.
