Katie Luscombe, a lovely midwestern gal with a quirky sense of humor, incredible talents in nail art, baby naming, and impressive journalistic talents has officially joined Team Appaman. She runs our online division bringing fun social media, great customer service and online e-commerce charm.
We have been lucky enough to know Katie for a few years from her background in the children’s industry and when a position opened up, we pounced. This post is long overdue, but since Katie typically does them and she is that kind of humble gal, it didn’t get done. So please give a warm welcome to Katie when you get a minute.

Many of our friends and neighbors here in NYC and the surrounding areas have been severely affected by Hurricane Sandy. Appaman is an NYC company and we want to help however we can! Appaman will donate 15% of all web sales placed from November 5th through November 12 to local, grassroots charities that are working hard to re-build the community.
We just made a massive update of our inventory, so lots of fall and winter favorites are now back in stock. There’s never been a better time to shop Appaman!
Thank you and don’t forget to vote today…it’s your right!
As you know, NYC was his hard during Hurricane Sandy this past weekend. Our Lower East Side offices are currently out of power and not operational until further notice. Therefore, our wholesale and web orders will be delayed until we are up and running again.
Thank you for you patience, and we hope you and your family were able to stay safe during the storm!
Appaman’s newest store in Hong Kong opened in Kowloon last month. The Telford Plaza location makes for the third Appaman shop in HK, and man…are we thrilled! The store looks great and we’re so proud of our overseas teams.

This summer we challenged moms everywhere to roll up their sleeves and attempt to take the Appaman Monkey Bar Challenge. The participation “fee” was a $25.00 donation that went to Alex’s Lemonade Stand for Childhood Cancer. We called upon people to embrace their childhood and regain those muscles we all once had. Just under 100 people signed up and we were thrilled to be instrumental in getting women out on the playground, challenging themselves and goofing off with their kids in the name of charity.
To complete the challenge, participants are expected to send in a video of them on the bars. Here is Lynn’s video. She gave it her all. Check it out:
Norway — Land of the Vikings, the Midnight Sun, and Appaman founder Harald Husum — is now home to Appaman’s first European retail venture. We’re thrilled to announce that our shop in Stanvanger is officially open for business!
The Stavanger store features a wall mural by graffiti artist Kim Stokke, who designed this awesome VW Beetle exclusively for Appaman (along with a miniature in-store version).
