Appaman’s Official Guide to New York’s Best Burgers

February 16, 2018 in New This Season, NYC

Yes, we even made a burger map.

Here at Appaman, we are a huge fan of burgers. It’s no secret – check out the burger patterns that feature in our new Spring 18 collection!

To celebrate our favorite food, we asked everyone in the office for their favorite New York burger joints – and the response was overwhelming. Check out the list below – and comment with your favorites!

Paul’s Da Burger Joint – Piper (Head of Marketing)

@PauldsdaBurgerjoint

“Ugh where do I start…the really soft potato buns, juicy burgers, melted cheese, shoestring fries. It’s a total neighborhood hole-in-the-wall joint in the East Village.”

The Harold and Rare Bar  – Stephanie (Head of Showroom)

” I just had one of my fave burgers last night at the Harold! Hard to pinpoint why, but it’s just a great burger! I also love The Rare Bar (several locations here in NYC), they just know how to do a burger right, and so many different combo’s, flavors.. and the bonus is the french fry trio platter!!”

Cinnamon Snail – Val (Designer)

@cinnamonsnail

“I love Cinnamon Snails Beast Mode Burger #tokenvegan.  Cinnamon snail used to only be a food truck, but now they have a spot in the Pennsy right down the street! yay! “

Bar Sardine and Raoul’s – Jenna (finance)

“Delicious pickles and shoestring fries on the burger! Raoul’s does a French spin on a burger, served with au poivre sauce (available at brunch only, and very $$$).”

Pizza Loves Emily – Lynn (owner)

@pizzalovesemily

“I know says it’s a pizza joint but omg that burger oh and the pizza. The pretzel bun is amazing…onions, cheddar, a sauce that they don’t even tell you what it is…SUCH an amazing combo!”

The Spotted Pig and The Dutch – Katie (E-Commerce)

“I love the burger at The Spotted Pig!  It was one of the earlier restaurants to start the gastropub/fancy burger craze and it is amazing. Comes with just the right amount of roquefort cheese and has rosemary shoestring fries on the side. I don’t know if the waits for dinner are as long as they used to be, but go for lunch and you won’t have to wait so long! One I saw Mike Myers there! The other burger that made me stop and go “this might be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had” was at The Dutch.  They’re known for their fried chicken, but I was literally thinking about that burger for days.”

Corner Bistro (2 votes)

@cornerbistrolic

“An important burger joint that should not be overlooked is Corner Bistro.  Old school, no frills, comes on a paper plate. It’s not gourmet like some of the others that will be recommended, but it’s a longstanding Manhattan staple.”

Mayfield  – Dorothy (Showroom Assistant)

“Mayfield in Brooklyn actually has a burger I crave from time to time! It’s an amazing, must-have burger..and they have delicious sweet and tangy pickles too.”

Shake Shack  (Party Hat, office CEO)

“I’ll basically eat anything because I’m a dog, but I like Shake Shack especially because they do a Pooch-ini which is a bag of delicious biscuits made especially for dogs! I still always try and get some of my human’s burgers though….”
